Camillus Erie Canal Park welcomes public, private and home-schooled students to visit the park to learn about the Erie Canal by taking a boat ride along a section of the canal and across the recently restored Nine Mile Creek Aqueduct.
A boat ride on the canal is a unique way to experience the Erie Canal and learn about the role the canal played in the early growth of our Country and life on the canal at that time.
To make your trip as enjoyable as possible, we hope you will take a few minutes to review the information below.
Schedule a Boat Tour
Due to the popularity of the boat tours our schedule fills up quickly. To ensure that your group gets scheduled for the date you want, please contact the park early with the date(s) you would like to visit.
What to expect when you arrive
When you arrive at the park, someone will be there to greet you. Remember that we are expecting you, so feel free to ask questions. We will be glad to help you in any way we can. We even help guide your bus driver to park or turn around. There are restrooms available as well as areas for your lunch break.
Boat Passenger Capacity
All of our boats have passed an annual New York State inspection for stability and passenger capacity. The maximum number of passengers allowed per trip is determined by New York State and must be adhered to. No exceptions will be made to allow the number of passenger to exceed the maximum limit per boat.
Please help us to accomodate everyone in your group by giving us an accurate head-count when you schedule your boat tour. Feel free to notify us if the number of passengers in your group changes.
