The Camillus Erie Canal Park is under the umbrella of the Town of Camillus Parks and Recreation Department. It is maintained and operated by a group who volunteer in their area(s) of interest, as per the "Volunteer Application" below. You get to do what you like and at the same time benefit from all the park has to offer. VOLUNTEERS ARE THE BACK BONE OF THE PARK! Over 48 years ago, a small band of volunteers armed with rakes, shovels and saws began clearing the 164 acre site. Today, we have over 420 acres and 160 volunteers. Orientation Day and other training opportunities are available. A number of social events for volunteers are held throughout the year. To receive a volunteer application you may download and print it below, call 315-345-2457, email email@example.com or stop in at Sims' Store.
NEED VOLUNTEER HOURS? To accompany courses, etc., you are welcome to inquire how to obtain those hours.
The Camillus Canal Society is governed by an elected Board of Directors and Executive Committee. It oversees the operations of the park. A membership in the society supports the Aqueduct Restoration project, educational programs and assists us in obtaining grants.
Our Membership Application is located on last page of the newsletter (See Newletter tab)
